To change the sound and music settings, tap on the Settings Menu (Gear Wheel) at the top left hand corner of the Home screen. 

Select Sound FX. This will bring up the sound option menu. 

To turn off the Sound FX or music, tap on your desired option and a bar will appear, turning it off.
