You can earn stars by playing games. Go to Map, tap on a location you’d like to visit. Then tap the game button in the bottom left corner. Keep playing the game until you reach the star reward screen.  You will earn 1, 2 or 3 yellow stars based on your performance. Tap them to collect them.
